Tuesday, Jan 26, 4PM – United Methodist Outreach Ministries (UMOM)

UMOMServing dinner to the homeless is one way to do mission work with others from CCOV. Plan to meet at CCOV and then carpool to the W. Watkins Overflow Shelter where we will prepare and serve dinner for the homeless. All are welcome to come help serve, or to purchase/prepare food to served–or both!

We provide an amazingly delicious and nutritious meal to Phoenix’s at-risk women and children. Depending on many factors, we serve between 150-200 individuals a month. Our requests in church are made so that many can participate in sharing, caring and in the mission of Jesus to feed the hungry and visit with the outcast to offer hospitality in Christian love. We always need: 40# Ham or Baked Turkey 6-8 Large Cans of Baked Beans 6-8 Large Cans of Fruit (pineapple or peaches) 200 Cheese Sticks 200 Crackers 12 Dozen Rolls 200 Servings Fresh Fruit (oranges, bananas, watermelon) 200 Servings of Fresh Veggies (carrot sticks, tomatoes, cucumber) 200 Servings of a Sweet Treats (cupcakes, cookies) 8 Gallons of Juice 2 Gallons of Milk

And 10-12 individuals to serve, always.

Families are welcome to serve and children, too. Children need an adult. We always have fun when we go. There are many learning and teaching opportunities after being at UMOM.

This is your invitation to live and love as our faith calls us to do. We leave CCOV at 4pm and are usually back around 6:30.

Plan to meet at CCOV and then car pool to the W. Watkins Overflow Shelter.
